In the dressing rooms of Meany Hall, Reema Dhanani, in yellow, and Maithri Reddy, in maroon, practice through a medley of Gujarati songs in both Raas and Garba dance forms they will perform with the UW DangeRAAS Dawgs group for the performance showcase of CulturalFest at the University of Washington on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. The group is the first collegiate Raas team to represent Seattle, and performs dances that are usually performed during weddings or festivals like Navaratri. The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students, FIUTS, hosted the two-day event at the University, which allows students and representatives of countries from around the globe to share both traditional and modern aspects of their culture.
