Omar, left, and Gurey, right, display objects that have special meaning to them. Both happened to choose books. “Bambi Grows Up” is one of the first books Omar remembers reading over and over again as a child. Reading is one of Omar’s favorite hobbies; now he prefers any kind of book about history.
Gurey says a series of books by John C. Maxwell helped him focus on his goals when he first came to America and still provide him with inspiration today as he works to better himself and others. “If I help someone and they succeed I am happy about it, that’s my reward. I like to see every human being succeed in their life. Equal opportunity. Liberty for all.”
