Baby Lockett

Josh and Tara Schwerdt, who also have a 22 month old named Atticus, decided to name their new son Lockett after Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Both are longtime Seahawks fans, work at the same school in Redding, Calif., and have a penchant for unique names.
The Schwerdt family spent the first two months of Lockett’s life mostly separated due to his health problems, which required him to stay at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford where he was born. In order to be closer to Lockett, Tara spent most of her time at the nearby Stanford Ronald McDonald house while Josh took care of Atticus back home in Redding, making the 4-5 hour drive when they could.
Lockett was formally discharged from the hospital on Dec. 5, 2016 at just one day under 2 months old, beginning a new chapter of life at home for the family. The Schwerdts will still need to visit the hospital regularly for checkups and to check progress as he grows and gets ready for a kidney transplant.
